One thing American conservatives never understood is that art is more important than politics. If you can create and impose your own aesthetic vision, politics will follow. Politics without art is untethered.
On an email list, I was recently sent some videos that are truly amazing. I’ll go through some of them. If you only have time to watch one, watch the first. But please, take the time and watch all of them. You won’t be disappointed.
The first is by the French female band Les Brigandes and it’s entitled “Le grand remplacement” (French for the “Great Replacement” which denotes the racial genocide of whites and their replacement by other races). For more of their videos, see here. Counter Currents has a piece about them here.

Rod Dreher recently decided to review the 1973 novel Camp of the Saints by Jean Raspail. In my estimation, this is one of the greatest novels of the 20th century, a novel that everyone should read (here’s a free PDF of the English translation), so I was pleased that Dreher was bringing attention to the novel. Nonetheless, I am disappointed at the politically correct tone and factually incorrect nature of the review.
Raspail does not separate skin color from culture and civilization… …Everything else in the novel ties civilization precisely to skin color.
Dreher throughout the review seems disturbed that Raspail considers race as an important factor. Dreher seems to think that culture somehow hovers in some hyperdimensional sphere completely removed from the biological reality of race. I know that Dreher occasionally reads HBD blogs, so I’m a little surprised that he would advocate a position so contrary to recent findings in science.
Here are some problems with Dreher’s account….
Dreher is too hung up on skin color. Yes, skin color, or let’s just say general “looks,” are important in evolution. For instance, in the famous Russian fox experiment, we know that when the foxes were selected for behavior it also affected their looks. As the foxes became more behaviorally domesticated, their looks become more domesticated as well. In short, as far as we can tell at this point, “looks” are probably in many cases tied to behavioral traits.
Nonetheless, race is more than just skin color. It encompasses tens of thousands of years of evolution. As this chart shows, humans genetically cluster into races:
And you can measure the genetic distances between ethnic groups and races:
Cavalli-Sforza’s team compiled extraordinary tables depicting the “genetic distances” separating 2,000 different racial groups from each other. For example, assume the genetic distance between the English and the Danes is equal to 1.0. Then, Cavalli-Sforza has found, the separation between the English and the Italians would be about 2.5 times as large as the English-Danish difference. On this scale, the Iranians would be 9 times more distant genetically from the English than the Danish, and the Japanese 59 times greater. Finally, the gap between the English and the Bantus (the main group of sub-Saharan blacks) is 109 times as large as the distance between the English and the Danish.
On average, Europeans are around 100x more closely related to each other than to sub-Saharan blacks. Something more than mere “skin color” obviously is going on here.
What Dreher fails to understand is the gene-culture evolution thesis. Ancestry / race and culture are interlinked – and probably deeply so.
For a more detailed and theoretical account, Cochran and Haprending’s 10,000 Year Explosion is necessary reading (free PDF). This book traces the gene-culture evolutionary history of humans over the past 10,000 years. It is definitely one of the most influential books I’ve ever read. If Dreher has not read it (I suspect he hasn’t), I hope he does so. Perhaps he could even write about it at TAC.
Raspail in the 1970s was not aware of recent findings in human genetics and evolution, but as a novelist he was way ahead of his time.
For the past month or so, there has been much talk about the identitarian European Congress conference (organized by NPI and others) in Budapest, Hungary. The conference was to have many speakers (including Aleksandr Dugin) and was in part supported by members of the right-wing Jobbik Party in Hungary. Then the antifa groups (both from Hungary and elsewhere in Europe) got involved, putting pressure on the Hungarian government to close down the conference. The anti-free speech antifas got their way in shutting down the conference, even to the point where Jobbik party members are now denying involvement, although they had been in contact with Richard Spencer for months in organizing the event. Nonetheless, although the formal conference was shut down (and some people said they weren’t coming), Richard Spencer decided to go ahead and hold an informal private meeting. (Here’s a video from Sept. 29 of Richard Spencer explaining that although the government was shutting down the conference, an informal private meeting would still take place.) Well, yesterday it seems that Richard Spencer and others were meeting in a bar and Richard Spencer was arrested by the Hungarian authorities. (Here’s a video of Richard Spencer right before his arrest.) I do not know the details …and have no idea whether Spencer has been released.
It’s ironically sad that various European authorities are so hell-bent on shutting down a pro-European conference. It’s symptomatic of the pathologically altruistic, ethnomasochistic malady infecting the West.
Wow. Just wow. The depravity of this is truly unbelievable. Over 1,400 young white girls were tortured and sexually molested by Pakistanti gangs for years and no one lifted a finger to stop it because they were afraid they would be called “racist”. In other words, it’s better to have your white children raped and tortured by brown curry pimps than it is to be a “racist”.
As we reach the 11th hour of the West, we need to ask some serious questions. Like, isn’t it high time for a moratorium on all Third World immigration into the West? Do white people have the right to exist? And if so, how? Shouldn’t whites have racially exclusive homelands to raise their families, just as all other races have including Ashkenazis?
A long-standing “Trad Catholic” I know told recently me that he had left the Church. He, in essence, said that his “conservative” priest had become obsessed with promoting mass Third World immigration, peddling interracial adoption, speaking incessantly about various forms of “social justice” such as opposition to non-White abortions, and, of course, denouncing evolution because it’s “racist”. Contemporary Western Christianity, even in its so-called “conservative” guises, has become indistinguishable from the central values of Cultural Marxism.
As other commentators have already noted, two things are happening to Christianity today:
First, outside the West, Christianity is rapidly becoming a non-Western religion (e.g. African Christianity in Africa, Mestizo Christianity in Latin America, etc.). As noted by many scholars, a new, non-Western form of Christianity is being born, unlike anything preceding it. It has been estimated that within 50 years, Christianity will overwhelmingly be a non-Western religion, both demographically and theologically.
Second, inside the West, Christianity is becoming more universalized than ever—often substantially no different from the major tenets of Cultural Marxism. You currently have mainstream Christian leaders (both Catholic and Protestant) supporting the Third World immigration invasion of the West and cajoling White couples into adopting unwanted African or Haitian babies instead of birthing White babies. Pathological altruism and ethnomasochism rule the roost; in short, Western Christian leaders today are a bunch of girly men. Such maladaptive trends cannot last indefinitely.
Evolutionary biologist E.O. Wilson and science journalist Nicholas Wade have both argued that religion, by and large, is adaptive, in that religion increases one’s inclusive fitness. In short, religion provides group cohesion and, when overlapped with ethnicity or race, religion maintains strong group identity, which assists in group survival. A textbook example of the success of ethno-religion would be Ashkenazi Jews.
What is happening with Christianity in the West today, however, is arguably maladaptive. This extremely universalized girly-man form of Christianity (unlike the more manly earlier Germanic form) seems to be an unholy suicide pact. Not only does it lack any grounding in biological reality but it seems to be hostile toward it.
And what is grounding in biological reality? When religion overlaps with and reinforces racial identity, it is at its strongest. In fact, ethno-religion might be the strongest group identity known to man. Religious identity and racial identity can be strong by themselves, but combine the two and you are in a different league. It’s little wonder that throughout human history ethno-religion has been the norm. The more extreme, deracinated and universalized religion of the past century is the historical aberration.
And that is the gist of identitarian religion, as I understand it: it’s ethno-religion, a rejection of universalism, a return to human normalcy. So, identitarian religion is something “new” in that it’s juxtaposed to our current universalized suicide pact, but it’s also “old” as it’s a return to older norms.
What forms can identitarian religion take? Is it exclusive to a particular religion? Short answer: No.
While Christianity has become nearly synonymous with Cultural Marxism in the West, it must not necessarily be so. Identitarian Christianity is a possibility, and one certainly sees instances of it, ranging from Pro-Western Christianity to the Anglo paleoconservatives, to Kinist Protestantism, to forms of ethnonationalist Slavic Orthodox Christianity. But since Christianity has recently taken on an extremely universalist trajectory, any battle for Identitarian Christianity will be an uphill battle, but nonetheless perhaps a battle worth waging.
Another option one sees is a return to Paganism, ranging from Asatru in North America to other forms of Germanic Paganism, Celtic Paganism, Roman Paganism, Greek Paganism, and Slavic Paganism throughout Europe. Paganism properly understood, i.e. historically and accurately understood, is a blood-and-soil religion, an ancestral religion, an ethno-religion, the very antithesis to deracinated universalist religion.
And, of course, there are other forms of Non-Western identitarian religion that would be appropriate for Non-Westerners. But the question here is whether competing forms of Western identitarian religion can get along. Within the larger framework of Western identitarian religion, can, for example, Identitarian Christians and Pagans coexist?
I don’t see why not.
And what of identitarian atheists and agnostics? Can they co-exist with identitarian religion? Since identitarian religion is not at odds with nature, and thus not at odds with evolutionary science, it does not threaten secular knowledge but offers itself as an additional societal glue. And perhaps a necessary glue at that, as it is unclear that society can survive, long-term, without religion. While some individuals can function without religion, can society as a whole? Has it ever?
As Western Universalist Christianity wanes tepid, and as identitarian ideas continue to spread, now is a good time to outline a larger framework for identitarian religion as a guide for various Western religions. Hopefully this brief outline will help with this endeavor.

I suppose that different conclusions can be drawn from the amazing work that HBD Chick has done on the Hajnal Line and outbreeding of Northwest Europeans, but I tend to agree with the sentiment of Heartiste above. While outbreeding (i.e. outbreeding among co-ethnics but only distantly related ones) might have created certain advantages in smaller, homogenous countries (such as increased trust and individualism), in modern multiracial states it’s an Achilles’ heel, perhaps the Achilles’ heel for Westerners / whites, which in recent years has resulted in pathological altruism and ethnomasochism. I mean, you actually have many SWPLs and white fundamentalist Christians now opting to adopt low-IQ black babies in lieu of passing on their own DNA. At some point, outbreeding becomes maladaptive.
In the past couple days, “medievalist” Karl Steel and some of his friends, such as Jeffrey Jerome Cohen (and other Cathedral mouthpieces), have been “attacking” HBD and the Dark Enlightenment on Twitter, including a blog post. N.B. by “attacking” I don’t really mean attempting to discredit but pointing and sputtering. And I put “medievalist” in quotes because unlike traditional medievalists who had deep philological understandings of classical and medieval languages (such as Latin, Old High German, Old Norse, Anglo-Saxon, etc.) this group is representative of a new trend, “scholars” short on traditional philological skills but long on the latest pomod theories, which results in applying the latest lit-crit “theory” to an English translation of a text. Yes, Idiocracy, has consumed literary studies. Oh yea, many of them also seem to detest logic and reason (ruses of the white man).
Anyway, browsing through some of their writings, you find the latest fashionable nonsense, like Jeffrey Cohen’s “On the nonexistence of race,” which is all quite comical. It’s trendy these days to claim that race was “invented” in the Enlightenment, although Sarich & Miele easily refuted this claim in the “Ancient Concept of Race“. These Dorothys can keep their eyes closed and continue to click their heels saying “race doesn’t exist,” but it simply won’t change reality. In fact, modern science is showing that no only does race exist but genetic racial divisions are much deeper than previously imagined (see here). Regardless, although these “medievalists” claim race doesn’t exist, I saw one person (now I’ve lost the source) speaking of miscegenation among the Medieval British.
Regarding the last point, “miscegenation among the Medieval British,” these people apparently are ignorant of Bryan Sykes landmark genetics study Blood of the Isles, where Sykes shows how remarkably ethnically homogenous the British Isles are at the genetic level. Steve Sailer writes:
From his database, Sykes concludes that the majority of the genes of the peoples of the British Isles are descended from the oldest of the modern inhabitants: Mesolithic hunter-gatherers, who began arriving 10,000 years ago from Continental Europe after the end of the last Ice Age, as soon as the islands became habitable again.
Still, there are different ethnic groups among Europeans. Everyone knows this (and there are HBD differences between ethnic groups). However, the current meme of emphasizing ethnic groups at the expense of larger racial groups hides how closely related many ethnic groups are to each other. What’s remarkable in this instance is how closely related European ethnic groups are to each other vs Non-Europeans. Regarding Luigi LucaCavalli-Sforza‘s research on the genetic distances between racial groups, Sailer writes:

And let’s forget that concepts like “blue blood” (stressing white, fair skin) were very popular in Medieval Europe, as a way to separate fair-skinned upper-class Europeans from the swarthier Moors.
And let’s not leave out eugenics (which the Ashkenazis have been practicing for the past 1,000 years) in Medieval Europe. Eugenics, first popularized by Plato and Aristotle, was alive in Medieval Europe with concepts such as “blue blood” or gentillesse (refinement and courtesy resulting from good breeding). Gregory Clark has demonstrated that the children of the upper-classes among Medieval English had a 2:1 survival rate over the poor and that there was much downward mobility, which resulted in the downward drift of genes from the upper-classes to the lower classes, resulting in a general increase in IQ and decrease in violence.
Still, don’t let any of these inconvenient facts get in the way of our current “medievalists” where the Medieval World for them is but a blank canvass on which they can paint the most fashionable and latest lit-crit theory.
Although I may seem a little hard on Karl Steel above, I will say this: From what I’ve seen, Karl Steel seems more intelligent and perhaps one day able to think “outside the Cathedral box” than the ever hysterical Jeffrey Jerome Cohen.
Apparently, there’s a heterosexual HIV surge in the UK due to white women having sex with black men. Healthy Living reports:
So why a sudden increase in HIV prevalence amongst white British heterosexuals? Upon investigation it was revealed the woman had taken part in a humanitarian trip eight years earlier in sub Saharan Africa, having unprotected vaginal and anal sex with local men – infecting her husband a year later then subsequently infecting her two children through breast feeding.”
Popular female sex tourism destinations include the Caribbean, particularly Barbados and Jamaica and African countries such as Gambia, Senegal and Kenya.

Which is basically correct. Santa as we know him today is a composite of sorts, but his oldest (and truest?) form is that of Odin leading his ghostly yule procession through the sky. This older Odin meme is then later overlaid with Christian elements, such as St. Nicholas (who, by the way, is Greek, not Turkish — Turkey didn’t exist in the 4th century), and Sinterklaas stories of central and northern Europe, but many of the Germanic pagan elements still survive surrounding yule/Christmas, such as elves, yule logs, etc.
Interestingly, there’s a similar parallel with the character Gandalf of Lord of the Rings. Tolkien, a professor of Germanic languages, clearly modeled Gandalf after Odin — the “grey wanderer” known by many names — but this is overlaid with certain Christian elements, such as Gandalf sacrificing himself for the Fellowship and then later resurrected (although resurrection is not unknown in Germanic paganism, such as the promise of Balder’s resurrection).
Nonetheless, both Santa and Gandalf both suffer from one irredeemable sin in the eyes of the Cathedral: They’re white. Cathedral’s answer: Dump’em or darken’em.
And as noted by Peter Frost and others, there seems to be same-race variation in pigmentation. Both among Europeans and North Asians, one finds that the upper classes tend to be fairer skinned, and the lower classes darker skinned. Think of the “fair princess” (beauty = fair skin) and epithets throughout literature, such as “white-armed Andomache” or the fact that fair-skinned women are often thought of as more virtuous.
Globally, women will go to great lengths to make themselves appear more fair, as skin-lightening products are some of the most-sold beauty products in the world. In short, surveying history, one could say fairness is adaptive; swarthiness, maladaptive, at least as they concern recent post-hunter-gatherer societies. Is fairness part of the domestication of Europeans and North Asians (as with foxes)?
Why, then, in the West, the radical changes of the past 40 years or so? Why is tanning among white women now considered hip? Why do some white women intentionally try to make themselves look darker?
In short, one could say much in the West is now dysgenic; whatever the media (and those who have real power) prescribe is probably contrary to reality.
Also note that the rise of the tanning phenomenon coincides with the sexual revolution. Does tanning of women denote sexual availability? Are tan women perceived as being sexually easier?
I have no hard data on this but from my experience (of frequently going out for a decade in major American and European cities) guys internally view fair women as marriage material, and overly tanned women as sluts. (If this is true, this could be a powerful weapon for women looking to snag a husband.)
There was much hype this week about a small British company that is on the verge of “curing cancer.” The Independentreports:
A single-storey workshop on a nondescript business park in Oxfordshire is not the sort of place where you would expect scientific revolutions to take place. But behind the white-painted walls of this small start-up company, scientists are talking about the impossible – a potential cure for cancer.
For the past 20 years, the former academics who set up Immunocore have worked hard on realising their dream of developing a totally new approach to cancer treatment, and finally it looks as if their endeavours are beginning to pay off. In the past three weeks, the company has signed contracts with two of the biggest players in the pharmaceuticals industry which could lead to hundreds of millions of pounds flowing into the firm’s unique research on cancer immunotherapy – using the body’s own immune system to fight tumour cells.
Immunocore is probably the only company in the world that has developed a way of harnessing the power of the immune system’s natural-born killer cells: the T-cells of the blood which nature has designed over millions of years of evolution to seek out and kill invading pathogens, such as viruses and bacteria. T-cells are not nearly as good at finding and killing cancer cells, but the hard-nosed executives of the drugs industry – who are notoriously cautious when it comes to investments – believe Immunocore may have found a way around this so that cancer patients in future are able to fend off their disease with their own immune defences.
The leader of the research team, Bent Jakobsen, is Danish born, but the team largely English, which got me to thinking of the brilliance of British accomplishment.
Science isn’t truly practiced everywhere. As Gregory Cochran illustrates with this graphic, science is only performed in certain regions of the world (mostly by European or North Asian-descended peoples). And even then, certain European groups seem to outperform others (esp. the British, Germans, and French).
Regarding Charles Murray’s Human Accomplishment, it’s really quite remarkable how many of the world’s greatest accomplishments were performed by the British. The UK has been a true intellectual powerhouse.

Quite an impressive list, given the UK’s size, which can only make one proud of his English ancestry.
On the downside, one only worries that mass Third World immigration into the UK will eventually have a dysgenic effect, bringing this long trend of accomplishment to an end.
The concept of ‘justice’ is ancient. First widely popularized by Plato and Aristotle, ‘justice’ has remained a common element in Western political and ethical thought. And while blind justice might be largely attainable in racially homogenous societies of European-descended peoples, it might not be so in multi-racial states. People, esp. non-Europeans, by design, might be just too tribal. Perhaps the real implication of the Zimmerman trial / Trayvon Martin affair is that the quaint and fragile notion of ‘justice’ is often unattainable in multi-racial states.
As Conservatism now scuttles toward its much-deserved death, in Europe, and to a lesser extent in the United States, we are witnessing the rise of identitarian thought.
What is identitarianism? Well, it’s about identity, but not a superficial cultural identity, which one can easily exchange for another, but deep identity, that is a genetic / hereditarian / racial-ethnic identity that cannot be exchanged. (Yes, blank slatists / culturists / Cultural Marxists will despise identitarian thought.)
